Dante was not enjoying his shower, the cold water beating down on his body. He'd been dreaming again. The same thing, all the time. Ever since he'd found Vergil, he'd been dreaming of claiming his brother as his. He'd at first been shocked by the dreams, and disgusted at the thought of incest, but that had quickly gone away. Now all he got from the dreams was an aching hard on, and cold showers every morning.
He had finally calmed down enough that he could turn on the hot water to warm up when Syn came bounding in the bathroom.
"Dante we need to talk."
He turned towards her, his hands covering his groin, "Damn it Syn, I'm in the shower."
She grinned and waved that thought away, "Not like I've not seen it before. And this is important."
Dante groaned and turned to start washing himself. When Syn got an idea in her head, she wasn't letting it go.
"What do we need to talk about?"
"Vergil."
Dante looked at her from the corner of his eye, "What about Vergil?"
She frowned and crossed her arms, "Just what are you doing to him?"
He frowned, "What do you mean?"
She sighed, "I keep forgetting how dense you are in the mornings. Why did you kiss, Vergil?"
He blinked, "You saw that? Huh, I didn't realize you were there."
She arched her eyebrow, "You didn't? Nevan, Lady, and I were there. Now why did you kiss him?"
He shrugged, "It felt right. That's why. Well that and I wanted to."
She nodded, "Ok, well I talked to Vergil, and you're confusing the hell out of him."
He turned his head to look at her, still washing his body and hair, "I am? How?"
She sighed, "Dante, you need to remember that even though he's better now, he's been through literal Hell for the past several years. He has a lot of bad memories and fears that are still in play. You coming on so strong and quick is confusing and scaring him."
He closed his eyes and rinsed his hair, "What, you're not going to tell me that I'm disgusting for feeling this way about my twin brother?"
Syn shook her head, "Blame the Nexus. My best friend has fucked his younger self, and I know alternates of you and Vergil that are mates. It doesn't bother me. I actually think you guys go together, but you need to have patience."
He sighed, "Look, I suck at having patience."
She laughed, "I know that, but Vergil is worth it isn't he?"
He nodded, turning off the water and snagging his towel from the rack, "Yea, he is."
She grinned, "That's good. Just keep that in mind. He's conflicted as to his feelings for you. And he's scared. You're coming on too strong for him, you got to remember that he's still fragile, even if he doesn't look like it."
Dante wrapped his towel around his waist, and stepped out of the shower, "Ok, I'll remember this. Any other advice?"
She shrugged, "Nope, not really. Just slow it down with him. He's not saying to stop, he just wants you to slow down. And believe me, if you don't. I'll kick your ass."
He chuckled, "He's got you that protective?"
She grinned, "You know me, I'm protective of family."
He opened the door to the bathroom and walked to his room, Syn following behind him, "Yea, you are."
Syn grinned, "And damn proud of it."
He started getting dressed and shook his head, "That you are."
Syn hugged him as soon as he was dressed in his pants, "I love you big brother and I want you happy. I also want Vergil happy and I think you can make him happy, but just take things slow. Talk to him, woo him, but do it slowly."
Dante nodded and Syn walked out, going to the kitchen. Dante walked to Vergil's door and stood there for a minute or two, wondering if he should knock and speak to Vergil.
